Summer Skincare For All types of skin

Do you often wonder if your skin has seasons too? I’d say yes to that! I find it dehydrated after a long fall into winter of staying indoors bathed in super heated dry air and a lack exposure to vitamin D.

It doesn’t help that our bodies essentially are hibernating ( this is what my acupuncturist reminds me). So lets get that summer glow going safely! To jump start your skin try some of these targeted serums for each skin type.

Acne Prone

  • Salicylic acid

  • Niacinamide

  • Retinol

Oily

Same as acne but add acid instead of retinol

Combination

  • Glycolic acid

  • Niacinamide

  • Mandolin Acid

Dry

  • Lactic Acids

  • Hyaluronic Acid

  • Ceramides

Aging

  • Retinol

  • Peptides

  • Vitamin C

Normal

  • Glycolic Acid

  • Retinol

  • Vitamin C

We all need a little help, I hope you find this clears things up, no pun intended! And don’t forget a little gentle facial scrub or a peeling cream is all it takes to keep the glow going. Try Tuel’s Power Peel Scrub! They are women owned local to oakland beauty products company and well priced. All are good for someone just starting out on their Pro- Aging journey. Remember START NOW and look 10 years younger at 50!

As for the brands I am currently enjoying here are a few to start you off or add to your routine.

Le mieux- I love all the serums and switch off depending on the current season. I usually focus on just one for nighttime routine to get maximum results. Coming soon to my amazon store!

Hydro-peptide- my all time favorite a bit pricey but worth it for retinal and peptides, the work horses for anti or PRO Aging. Also coming soon to the Amazon store !

Goop Beauty- I discovered this checking out beauty blogs during pandemic shutdown. I find the products to have an amazing texture and are made clean and are full of anti oxidants.

WHATS MY MORNING ROUTINE? Here’s how I start my day, improve my skin, my mental health , and wake up!

First things first …. I start the morning with a cup of hot water and lemon, it gets my gut primed for food and that essential morning espresso. As I drink I sit by my front window getting a little sunlight and mulling over my day. Then a morning guided meditation, (I’m into Dr. Laura Berman, and the language of love! Check this one out…) Dr berman podcast. Or something from insight timer. I follow Sarah Blondin and love all her meditations.

On to a little time stretching, for me at least 10-15 mins to loosen my posture up. Usually the dogs are joining me here on the floor as it turns into some puppy play too. Check out my friend Lila Heller on her workout platform which keeps me on my toes and fully awakened!

After a quick pass over my face with a toner and a cotton pad or even a wet soft face towel, I add my Vitamin C serum from LeMeuix, then hyaluronic acid layer, a few drops of an essential oil blend by RMS Beauty Oil, and my favorite daytime moisturizer from Goop Beauty called Goop Glow Lotion.

I usually jump right into finishing my face with a makeup primer by ILIA and a protective SPF 50 tinted layer like Lune & Aster along with a little color on cheeks and lips. Good to go! At least out the door on a dog walk…….More on my color picks for the summer glow face and the go- glitter daytime makeup looks in the blog section on Makeup I Love!
